Annual Labor Day Pier Swim
Get ready for a unique event that is exclusive to Oceanside and Labor Day Weekend during your upcoming trip. We are of course talking about the Oceanside Labor Day Pier Swim that will be entering its 95th year! This is one of Oceanside’s oldest traditions and has been going strong since 1929; it is the longest rough water swim here in the Western United States. This event is a perfect way to cool off on a summer day right before the season ends. The Oceanside Labor Day Pier Swim is a one mile swim where you swim around the Oceanside Pier. Participants will check in at the Oceanside Pier the morning of the event to receive your number, t shirt, and timing chip to record your time. A coat check service will be available so you can leave your belongings behind as you participate in the swim. Awards are provided to those who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the men’s and women’s divisions. Raffle tickets are prizes will also be available with benefits going to the Oceanside Swim Club. When you want to eat, play, and shop along the waterfront there is no place better than the Oceanside Harbor Village. This family friendly area is the perfect spot to unwind with the whole group during the summer day. You will find a variety of local restaurants right here in the village that are sure to have you leaving satisfied. The restaurants include the Rockin’ Baja Lobster Coastal Cantina where you will feel like you are transported to Puerto Nuevo.
