The weather in the spring might still be a little cool to go swimming, but with daily highs in the 60s, you will find the sunshine feels great on your skin. Spending a little time on the beach is most popular over at Oceanside Pier. You will find a beach on the southern side of the pier that is frequented by the locals all year long. Enjoy laying out on the beach as you watch on others surf and body board out in the water; you can always try your hand at these activities too by visiting a local rental shop! Strand Beach is another popular spot to relax at the beach. This local spot features a long stretch of sandy shoreline where the kids can make sandcastles. Dogs on leashes are allowed at the beach too. You will find plenty of amenities such as food stands, bathrooms, and outdoor showers along the beach. Enjoy Oceanside Pier

Whenever you are not at the adjacent beach you should visit this historic pier that has been part of the Oceanside community for years. This is the longest wooden pier this side of the country that stretches over 1,900 feet long, jetting out into the water. You can peruse the many shops nearby the pier or pick up rental fishing equipment to try your hand at a little fishing. One such event is the Ironman 70.3 Oceanside race is an exclusive race that has each participant taking on a swim in the ocean, bike ride over rolling hills, and a final run with the beautiful Oceanside backdrop behind you. Many Ironman participants attempt to make their way to Oceanside each year for this incredible race that is a feat above all others. Even if you do not plan on participating you can watch on as these athletes take on new challenges that push the human body to new heights. This year’s Ironman 70.3 Oceanside race will take place on April 5th, 2025.

One of our favorite outdoor spring activities in Oceanside is the Oceanside Farmers Market. The Oceanside Farmers Market is a huge selection of local vendors and farmers selling their produce and wares every Thursday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Some of the popular items you can find include artisan baked goods, flowers, organic honey, dips and sauces, olive oil, and fresh produce. This is a great spot to check out to purchase any ingredients you need for a meal back at your vacation rental. The farmers market can be found over at Main Street and is easy to spot so you won’t miss it!
Go Whale and Dolphin Watching
