Haunted Sunset Market
Some of the best ways to celebrate Halloween are always the local parties and events in the area. Oceanside knows how to get a little spooky for all ages, and one of the best events each year for Halloween is the Haunted Sunset Market.
Each Thursday, Oceanside hosts the Sunset Market from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pier View Way for an outdoor market. You will find a variety of hot food, certified agricultural products, live entertainment such as music, and a children’s play area. There will be plenty of artisan and craft booths open providing a variety of arts, crafts, and plenty of other wares. This is typically a popular event in Oceanside each week and offers a way to experience the area like a local.
Each Halloween season, the Sunset Market features a Haunted Sunset Market that brings out the holiday vibes. You will find all of the usual Sunset Market features along with special Halloween activities exclusive to the event. A costume parade will take place that starts at 6:00 PM for everyone to march around and see the best costumes in town. Or try out the Evil Laugh and Blood Curling Scream contest on the main stage to see who is the loudest. The live music will switch over to Halloween music all night long to really bring out the spooky atmosphere. And best of all, the Haunted Sunset Market features trick-or-treating for children ages 12 and under for absolutely free. Let your kids trick-or-treat around different vendors for a safe trick of treat space they will enjoy. All of the best candy will be handed out to satisfy any sweet tooth. This year’s Haunted Sunset Market has yet to announce a date, but expect it to be on Thursday October 24th or 31st right here in Oceanside.
Halloween Spooktacular: Trunk or Treat
One of the best ways that trick-or-treating is hosting in public settings is with a “trunk or treat” event. Trunk or treat is where instead of trick-or-treating house to house you do it in a public setting from trunk to trunk. The Oceanside Parks and Recreation department sets up their Halloween Spooktacular: Trunk or Treat each year for the kids to have a safe and exciting way to trick-or-treat. This event has been held at Mance Buchanon Park in the past and is expected to return here once again. The event is absolutely free to attend for the whole family and has more than just trunk or treating. The Halloween Spooktacular: Trunk or Treat takes place the Saturday before Halloween with this year falling on October 26th. Your kids will have an absolute blast as they explore the different group games, inflatables, crafts booths, and much more. Best of all, all of the activities are absolutely free to enjoy. Halloween Spooktacular runs from noon to 6:00 PM on the day of the event so make sure everyone has their costumes ready!
